Writing

When I was a child I used to tell myself stories to get to sleep, but a creative writing course in college convinced me I couldn’t write literary fiction. It was only after I got to know Marion Zimmer Bradley that I realized that one could write (and sell) the kind of book that I loved to read, and I started writing again. Since my first novel appeared in 1981, I have made my living by putting words together, first fiction, and lately non-fiction as well. By now the list is pretty long. This section is intended to help readers who like one of my books to find others of “the same kind of thing”, and also to provide some background and context.
